Luuk van der Loeff

Painting Conservator
Kröller-Müller Museum

Luuk van der Loeff is a painting conservator and restorer at the Kroller Muller Museum. Luuk is responsible for the condition of the collection of the Kröller-Müller Museum. She and her staff  specialize in different disciplines like metal, photography, stone, textile, ceramics, frames and polychrome sculpture work on the collection. The museum has two conservation labs and a photo studio where the artworks are surveyed and preventive and active conservation treatments are carried out. This is generally done for exhibitions, loans and the general care artworks need. Material and technical research is conducted to analyze possible material failure, the artist’s technique and the art making process of objects from the collection. The Kröller-Müller Museum plays an active role in sharing knowledge and takes part in several national and international research projects in the field of conservation.
